A series of fourteen town meetings highlighting the UNFPA report, Footprints and Milestones will be held across the United States in November and early December. These meetings will give local citizens the opportunity to learn more about population and environmental issues on the local, national and global levels, and to hear ways they can address those issues personally. Locations include Ann Arbor, MI; Columbus, OH; Madison, WI; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; St. Paul, MN; and Middlebury, VT.
Partnerships of national environmental and family planning organizations, universities and colleges and local citizens are organizing the town meetings. Organizers include the Izaak Walton League, National Audubon Society, National Wildlife Federation, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, ,Sierra Club, and the U.S. Committee for the United Nations Population Fund.
