In the face of government restrictions on reporting on HIV/AIDs, it is often up to individuals to provide information, as Yuen Chan finds out in rural China.
Suggested intro/cue material for presenter:
According to UN estimates, more than one and a half million people are infected with HIV in China. The government has now admitted that there is an AIDS problem. But it's still difficult for the media to cover the story openly and for the public to get accurate news and information. In this climate of secrecy, there's a growing number of individuals living with HIV who are finding ways to raise awareness. Yuen Chan went to Xionzhuang in Henan Province to find out how.
