U.S. Government to Launch Online Conversation on Global Issues

March 26, 2010 – The U.S. Government is hosting a three-day, online collaboration event next week that aims to bring together tens of thousands of individuals from around the world to co-create solutions to global issues facing the international community.

The event, Global Pulse 2010, will take place March 29-31 and is a chance to connect socially engaged participants with one another to build new or strengthen existing relationships and to discuss key issues facing the world. It will also inform U.S. foreign assistance and diplomatic strategies on topic areas and ideas that emerge.

Various leaders in related fields will facilitate 10 discussions on hot button topics, including: empowering women and girls; promoting global health; empowering leaders of tomorrow; education; and supporting a sustainable planet.

Global Pulse 2010 is sponsored by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, Education, and Health and Human Services.
