Dear Mr President,

The Australian Reproductive Health Alliance notes that you have frozen the $34 million in funding for the UNFPA.

We hope that you reconsider this action in view of the detrimental effect it will have on the lives of women and children around the world. Withholding such necessary funding from UNFPA will in fact lead to an increase in the numbers of dangerous abortions being performed around the world, which we am sure you do not intend through your actions.

We urge you to reconsider your position and immediately release the promised funds to UNFPA.
