EARTH DAY APRIL 22, 2001 EVENT 1: Planet will have an exhibit at the
Earth Day Expo at the University of
California, San Bernardino. It is sponsored jointly by National Audubon Society and Population Action International.
Volunteers will distribute Planet material, play the latest Planet
video, offer an interactive display on
the links between international family planning and creating healthy
families and healthy ecosystems, and sign-up people interested in becoming
advocates for achieving Planet’s

of Audubon (909) 420-0420. EVENT 2: National Audubon Society and Population Action International
will host two complementary Planet
events: An Earth Day Reception and Symposium. The events are being held at the
University of Redlands from 3 to 6 pm. The reception is hosted by the
University’s President, Dr. Appleton, and will be attended by approximately 50
invited guests influential in this area. The symposium, “Growth and the Environment:
Creating a Sustainable Future,” will feature Dr. Allen Hammond, Senior
Scientist and Director of Strategic Analysis, World Resource Institute. Five
university professors will also participate as members of a panel. They will
address the symposium’s theme from an international perspective. The symposium

impact of population growth on our global environment. The "Scavenger
Hunt" festival will include five educational stations including the Migratory
Bird station hosted by Audubon. Learn how international family planning is
