Dear Mr. President:

On behalf of women around the world, we ask that you release the $34 million for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

A lot more than family planning is at stake in your decision to provide the funds an overwhelming majority of Congress approved for UNFPA.  The Fund is the lead global agency providing pregnancy and delivery care, supporting health information and services for young people, and advocating for girls' and women's empowerment. Without UNFPA, women in developing countries would lose one of the most stalwart champions of their health and rights.  Without the contribution from the United States, UNFPA loses its ability to move this agenda forward.

Please move forward with the will of the Congress – and the American people – and make the $34 million contribution to UNFPA.

Sincerely yours,

Adrienne Germain
